Hello, Friends!
I’d intended to get this to you sooner, but the last 2 weeks at the University kept me running night and day. I was delighted that all the students I work with ended the year strong, and now I’m looking forward to having a few less things on my to-do- list for a while!
Tickets for next week-end’s concerts are available at White’s Music Box. The performances will be held at the Branigan Cultural Center on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. There is no charge for admission, but you may guarantee your seat by collecting tickets in advance. Saturday evening’s performance will begin at 7:00 PM, with an encore performance on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM. We will begin to seat those with tickets 40 minutes prior to each performance; at 10 minutes before each concert we will admit un-ticketed guests as space permits. Featuring Paso’s Quintessential Brass, as well as Yihan Chen sharing music of her native China, the concerts promise to be exciting and unique!
As I’ve mentioned previously, we are seeking individuals and businesses who will become supporting members of our organization. We appreciate the occasions we have had to serve audiences in our community with fine chamber music, and look forward to a great many more opportunities to do so in the future. Valued supporting members will play an increasingly important part in helping to make that happen! Please read more on our website about how you can become involved: www.lascrucesfriendsofchambermusic.org
In recent weeks our Executive Board has grown by one member, with the addition of Alexandra Aguirre. She and her husband returned home to Las Cruces a year or so ago, after completing school at NYU. Both are fine musicians, and we’ve been thrilled to be able to share them on a regular basis with our audiences. As our Director of Community Relations, Alex brings gifts and experiences that make her a wonderful asset part of the team! Thanks, Alex, and welcome!
I’ll be sharing details very soon of what we have in store for you over the next months. As we embark on our third year as on organization, we seek to bring an ever growing number of high-quality musical offerings. We are indebted to those of you who already attend our events, and look forward to many new faces in the months ahead. Why not invite a friend to attend next week-end’s concert with you? I look forward to greeting you there!
Musically yours,
Barbara Toth, Las Cruces Friends of Chamber Music
